Infinitely Striped Rib&Garter Cowl

Updated: Mar 13, 2019

I used leftover scarf (purple/black) yarn mixed with a second color yarn (dusty rose, I think).

size 7mm needles.

Using Color A (main color):

Cast on 20 stitches

1: k across (last stitch knit to back)

2: slip 1; k across (last stitch knit to

back)

3: slip 1; *p2 k2* last stitch knit to back

4: slip 1; *k2 p2* last stitch knit to back

repeat 3 more times (for four sets). to row 16

[you can do the entire thing in just one color, or adjust when you add in the new color]

switch to color B (accent color) (bring other color yarn up along side as you go)

17-20: same as rows 1-4.

switch to color A (bring other color yarn up along side as you go)

21-24: same as rows 1-4

switch to color B (accent color) (bring other color yarn up along side as you go)

25-28: same as rows 1-4.

switch to color A (bring other color yarn up along side as you go)

Repeat rows 1-28 as many times as desired.

after a row 28 pattern, switch to color A. knit and bind off loosely.

Sew ends together to form a circle with no twist. Weave in ends.

If you have enough yarn (I didn’t), you can make this longer to leave as a scarf. My design would have included a set of 16 rows of the pattern using color B on both ends of the scarf. And then possibly fringe.
