This scarf is actually really easy. All you need to know the the knit stitch. You can also use the slip stitch at the beginning of most rows (but you don’t have to).
I used the Fibonacci number sequence to determine how many rows of the main color before putting in 2 rows of the contrasting color. This is garter stitch pattern so I count “1” for every pairs of rows. Instead of trying to count the actual row number as listed below, simply count the “purl” rows on the right side to keep track of where you are.
